The subject of today’s podcast… What is an Intuitive Business Coach?
My Story
One of the things I rarely talk about in my podcasts is my work as an intuitive business coach. I’m writing this podcast on a cool and overcast morning here in Michigan and I’m still here with my family. It’s the fourth of July weekend and I’m always happy to celebrate that in the quiet of nature. I came to visit in October in what I refer to as my big “super bus”…otherwise known as a massive 36’ long motorhome…and the pups and I have found so much peace in being here that we just haven’t left. In some ways I guess I wanted to hide out from the world and recalibrate and in others I wanted to connect to richer and deeper parts of myself. For the most part I am uninterrupted. I know that anyone that breaks through the veil of purity I have created for myself, my business, and my puppies is someone worth spending time with, but otherwise I’m entirely content parked in my super bus with my little plot of land and postage stamp lawn working away on my business. There will come a point I may travel but I’ve seen many places in my lifetime so that was really never a goal. I just wanted the ability to get me, my puppies, and all my tech equipment to wherever I needed to go. It’s not easy to do that by myself, so this was just easier. I can go wherever I need and not miss a beat in my business.
You know, life is funny. I lived in Hawaii for many years and I never thought I’d find home again after being there. I grew my dream business, had what I believed was my dream partner, and had all the most beautiful vegan food available in any direction, and the beauty of the land (it’s called the aina there) was something to behold on every hike with my canine companions. But, there was something not very fitting about much of it. One day I was out gardening and, just as clear as a person standing next to me, I heard a voice say “don’t get too comfortable here, you will be leaving soon.” I was distraught! I had already been through so much change and this was the last thing I wanted - more change! A dramatic story unfolded for the next year that some day I will share. For now it doesn’t serve myself to share. Perhaps it would serve others, but it’s not a story I feel compelled to share any longer. In fact, I rarely feel the need to share many stories anymore, as very few tend to have ears to hear them. Most people are caught in their own story and too busy to take the time to authentically listen. My stories will be preserved for those whom have an open mind and pure heart.
But, indulge me while I share with you this story…
I returned to the mainland from my beloved Hawaii and eventually made my way to Utah and I will say that I never felt so out of place in my life as I did in Utah! We called her Mother Maui back home in the feminine energy of Hawaii, but Utah was a masculine paradise for some of the most extreme sports enthusiasts and some of the harshest weather I have ever experienced in my life! I like to think where someone lives defines a lot about their character. Let’s just say…I ran into a lot of really tough people.
Utah had 40 feet of snow on the back trails in the winter and over 100 degrees and raging fires in the summer. I’d sit watching the massive plows come through on the roads in the winters clearing everything in their path and the rescue and water-dropping helicopters in the mountains near my home in the summer. Extreme weather seemed to create extreme characteristics in the people…at least in my experience anyway. There is only a small window of enjoyable weather for walking dogs…which I do daily (and have for years). I’ve been vegan for some 30 years and there were very few vegan restaurants…and most of which were serving high carb warming foods for the cold weather. Thai food was about all I could find on a consistent basis if I didn’t cook from home. It’s cold there some eight months of the year. I really don’t mind a bit of cold weather, but my body just can’t handle those extremes.
While I was in Utah in the cold of the winter I struggled a great deal with my health. I didn’t know what was going on but suddenly I was not feeling well at all. It would turn out my hemoglobin was severely affected by both the altitude and the cold weather. It was affecting my blood oxygen to the point that I both couldn’t breathe and I couldn’t feel my extremities in the cold. You learn real quick that when oxygen is compromised in the body - anything that isn’t in the core suffers. It was kinda like having my arms, legs, fingers, and toes in vice grips, filled with anxiety, awaiting the pull of the trigger. And then I couldn’t breathe on top of it! My hemoglobin dropped to dangerous levels and I was inches away from a blood transfusion. I’m not much on the idea of that kind of energy exchange with a stranger so I was fighting against that very hard. I spent many days in tears while in Utah!
Now, of course, I’ve never been a city person and my favorite past time is out hiking with the pups, but that’s not possible with all the people, dogs, and snowed over trails in Utah. My pups grew up never even knowing another dog existed until they came to the mainland and saw them everywhere. So, needless to say, the crowded streets, when the more remote trails where unavailable due to snow, were not the place for us to be. Clearly I couldn’t spend anymore time in Utah and I was forced to leave!
There’s a quote that says:
“If it looks right but feels wrong it’s fear. If it looks wrong but feels right it’s intuition.”
But… if it feels and looks wrong, then I say - it’s just wrong!
Why do I tell you all this?
Basically because sometimes we have to see clearly where we don’t belong to know where we do. We have to get what we don’t want to know what we do. Every single experience we have in our lives gets us closer to what makes our heart sing. We learn to know ourselves better and better with every experience. There is a quote that says:
“Trust your intuition and be guided by love.”
Sometimes we have to make tough choices for self love. There is another great quote that says:
“Intuition is your soul whispering the truth to your heart and hoping that you hear.” (Kate Spencer)
There are so many gifts in challenging times! These challenges might first cause us to feel less in harmony and they may annihilate self confidence, but once you start to believe in yourself, magic starts to happen. But, sometimes we just can’t see what is right there in front of us and need a little bit of guidance doing so. Our own intuition may be blocked.
Why it didn’t work for me in Utah was because it just wasn’t supposed to. I didn’t know why then, but my finding some level of peace now tells me I wasn’t meant to. And, at the same time, it really did work because my soul grew deeper in many ways. I needed to go through a few more challenges to appreciate the kindness of where I’ve landed today. When I was very sick in Utah I was in places surrounded by people that were in far worse shape than I was. My ability to understand compassion grew tenfold. I was witness to the challenges of many souls around me that would likely loose their lives and leave their families due to their illness. I listened to their stories and cried with them as they told them. I’m beyond thankful to have known them and thankful for everything I learned in this confusing time in my life.
When something doesn’t work it is easy to see yourself as a failure, but I always dig deep for other reasons and gifts. I think we all know what we should or shouldn’t pursue and yet sometimes because there is no other choice available at the moment we choose what is right there in front of us…mostly because it’s easy. Then, time goes by, we get vested in bad relationships, take the wrong job, move to the wrong place, then have to start all over again. I don’t believe we are ever really misaligned but we can make choices that speed up the learning curb so we don’t have to repeat patterns of pain, drama, and trauma.
An intuitive business coach looks at patterns in the personal life and how this comes to the surface in the business life, as well as so many other things. And often times the greatest pains can manifest the greatest gifts. And many times we have to look forward and burn the bridges behind us so that we can re-program our awareness to new opportunities now and in the future. There is a great quote that says:
“Don’t look for healing at the feet of those who broke you.”
Perhaps you’ve also heard the quote “your new life is going to cost you your old one”. There are some general guides like learning to pay attention to whomever your energy increases and decreases around, because that’s the universe giving you a hint of who you should embrace or stray from. As well, sometimes the universe shows you what people from your past are doing now, so you can see how far you have grown. Those who were once a frequency match are now energetically a million miles away. Evolution and growth is a beautiful thing. And, you’ve probably heard the quote that says:
“You’re always one decision away from a totally different life.”
When life has gotten away from me I have fearlessly stepped away. I’ve said “No, this is not for me.” With no other plan in place, I just trusted making the decision (in awareness) that leaving what wasn’t right would turn up what was. It’s never been easy for any of us to make massive decisions. But, I can tell you that walking away from Hawaii taught me that when you believe you are at the top of your life and living a dream and you have the courage to just walk away the minute you realize it isn’t…you can walk away from just about anything else with far less remorse! Walking away the times I have has given me the courage to trust in something greater than me.
I had a hard time finding anyone that was neutral enough to truly listen to me during these challenging times. I would have loved to have had a guide or a coach that I could talk to who saw bigger than me to help guide me. I have found a few over the years that have given me various levels of peace, but none that were intuitive and business-focused. I couldn’t find anyone capable of navigating through where I was and what I was moving into. Few had a full and comprehensive view of all the factors affecting my decisions. If I cut ties in one direction it would affect my livelihood in another. This is when I realized that not everyone has cleared their own blocks, navigated such intense times, or is open enough spiritually or intuitively to give me the kind of proper guidance I needed then or perhaps even now.
Gifts vs Challenges
I’ll be honest, as an intuitive I have found it to be both a blessing and a curse to see psychically. To family and partners I’ve mostly been misunderstood…and honestly, quite harshly judged. What I share is often viewed as more of a threat. And in some cases it’s a bit like a dog and pony show or some kind of circus act. “See what Nicole can do!” In other cases I might provide financial advise because I can see it clearly laid out, but to someone unaccepting of my gifts I might be viewed as having no experience. The irony of someone walking in on a particular chapter in your life is they cannot see beyond the chapter. There is no imagination or recognition any other chapter exists that makes up the story and creates a magical ending.
No one in my personal life has ever taken the time to truly know me. Their awareness only goes so deep, so they typically have not understood the depth and breath of my character or abilities. I have learned over the years not to take it personally because I have ventured very deep into my soul for answers for many years. I’ve learned not everyone takes the time to do that and many rather enjoy wallowing in their own wounds.
I have learned it’s far easier to keep a distance from those that don’t want to sincerely know me. For the unawakened soul, much goes unnoticed and it can be a lonely road. A close-minded individual has no idea they have even missed the greater parts of you.
But, outside of my personal life I have not been viewed so harshly. People tend to be genuinely intrigued by me. And, I have found my gifts and talents to be more widely accepted. People have sought me out for guidance on many levels for much of my life and I’m pretty good at what I do. I see with great clarity because I know who I am and what my own obstacles are. I’m regularly engaged with clients that ask for my thoughts about a variety of topics as it relates to their personal or business success.
I have learned from my corporate days that you don’t have to be extreme to be successful, you just have to be consistent. By getting much of what you don’t want you determine what you do. And your success doesn’t have to fit a mold. You get to determine what you long for and what makes your heart sing. I just help remove (or create awareness of) the obstacles in your way. The path is there to be walked. I just serve as guide helping you navigate.
Have you heard the quote:
“Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers”?
For me, I’m enjoying great peace. (And, I buy myself fresh flowers every week because no one else does.) Of course, there are things I’d like to work a bit differently and there are others that are beyond wonderful. Right now my good is out-weighing my bad. I love my work, I love my little world I have created in my extremely functional super bus, and I enjoy my little routines without too much interruption. At a certain point in life (perhaps it’s age) we learn obstacles will occur and that’s normal, but how we manage our attitude during them is critical. It can be the end of the world and you’re standing at the edge of a cliff hopeless or it can simply be viewed as a bump in the road and you peer over and enjoy the view then move on.
There are many things happening in our world today and there are a lot of reasons to feel unstable. There is another great quote that says:
“When you can’t control what’s happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond. That’s where your power is.”
Today our government is failing, our social systems are failing, our schools are failing, our businesses are failing, our health care systems are failing, and yet we are somehow supposed to go about business as usual and pretend none of this is happening? It’s deeply affecting us in every facet of our lives! But, how do my intuitive business services help with any of this?
Sometimes life is just overwhelming or we need an outsider to peer in and tell us what they see. It can be simply a neutral observation or an intuitive gut feeling that causes us to make shifts and changes and other times we are too busy and don’t have time to look into what may be an obvious block others can see and sometimes we need just a bit more. Are you striving for success that isn’t coming? Do you have a gut feeling about a business associate or partner that just doesn’t feel right? Is there a functional aspect of your business that just isn’t flowing? Are you unhappy in your career but unsure what would be more satisfying? Are there co-workers or employees that you have unsatisfactory relationships with?
Many business coaches will give you the obvious solution to address your business needs, but sometimes you need just a bit more intuitive insight. As I said earlier…You’re always one decision away from a totally different life. So, let’s look into what the obstacles are and how we can navigate around them or blast through them.
With an intuitive business coach, like myself, we are guided to look at things well beyond the norm. We might see karmic relationships for example. These would be where situations are playing out lifetime after lifetime. If there are challenging interpersonal relationships this may be the case. Or perhaps you can’t break open the communication barriers and allow new business to come in. There might be some kind of energetic block. Essentially an intuitive business coach is going to look for all obstacles impeding your success. These can be people, situations, the location of your business may not be in harmony with energetic location lines, or you may not simply be showcasing your strongest business aspects. We will look at where you came from, where you are now, and where you’re trying to go. And, in some cases, you may not even know where you are trying to go. So we will look at further identifying your life purposes. I believe they are often more than one and sometimes they are as simple as just being here now.
What gives me the greatest clarity is my time away from noise. I talked about running my business from the super bus. Stepping away from the busy city, sitting on my yoga mat daily for guidance in my practice and life, and clearing out the chatter from those wanting me to serve them in some way that isn’t honoring my highest and best… this all allows me the ability to choose when, where, and how I engage to get the clarity I need to peer into your world and easily spot the obstacles.
It’s the fourth of July weekend and while friends and family are out camping, boating, watching fireworks, and doing what people do…I am enjoying quiet calm peaceful time away from the chaos and noise…watching the large black birds float through the sky…soft music playing…snoring dogs at my feet…birds singing in the yard…the smell and taste of my wonderful latte… I have nowhere to be and nothing to do on this overcast, rainy July the 3rd and I’ve never been so at peace.
When you are ready, I’m here to dedicate my time to seeing into your world and guiding you on how to navigate through your obstacles, shine in your purpose, and re-gain control over your personal and business life. You can call or text me at (808)280-5559 and we can get started with a consultation. Be safe out there this weekend!
Wishing you peace, love, and light.
